Could you be a Community Safety Ambassador?

As part of my community engagement strategy I intends to recruit 30 Community Safety Ambassadors from across Warwickshire.

Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Ron Ball

Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Ron Ball

The local Community Safety Ambassadors will act as my ‘eyes and ears’ and will ensure that I am kept informed of local issues, concerns and developments.

The Community Safety Ambassadors will be required to attend and report upon their local community forum, keeping in touch with other local groups and inform my office of issues of relevance to me. They will also have a relationship with their local Safer Neighbourhood Team and ensure I am briefed about concerns and, as importantly, successes.

There will be opportunities for the Community Safety Ambassadors to meet together on a North/South and County basis and act as an advisory panel to me. It is important to stress that the Ambassadors cannot speak on my behalf or enter into commitments on my behalf. They will be required to act with integrity and discretion and will need to demonstrate their good standing within their local community.

Local Knowledge will be a key component of the skills of any successful Community Safety Ambassador. We will try to ensure that each Ambassador is allocated the Community Forum in which they reside or are, at least, familiar with. We will consider other preferences where possible.

  1. I think that as you have PCSO’s and an officer at the forums, that can receive concerns from the public that this is a waste of resources . I would far rather you spent this money on employing full time police staff. Also when will you let me know how many Specials you have managed to recruit please?

    1. Good response Val Ingram, not only do I agree, but to add to it there are already in Warwickshire dedicated individules who have been (Under Warwickshire Police) representing their communiites under the IAG (Indipendanct Advisory Group), where they have meetings and have been dealing with local and county issues with Police officers from county level. Best thing about it Mr Ron Ball knows they exist to.

  2. Val, I do not agree with you. For less than the cost of the overtime for PCSO’s to attend the NF meetings Ron will have 30 motivated individuals who live in and care for their communities. I think that this is a great idea.

  3. I drop a leave a response when I appreciate a article on a website or if I have something to valuable to contribute
to the conversation. Usually it’s triggered by the sincerness communicated in the article I looked at. And on this post Could you be a Community Safety Ambassador? | Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner blog. I was moved enough to drop a commenta response 😉 I actually do have 2 questions for you if you don’t
mind. Could it be just me or do some of these comments look as if
they are left by brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are writing at other online sites, I would like to keep up with anything
fresh you have to post. Could you make a
list all of your public pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin
